I hope the layout will surprise you...at least a bit. And that you've had fun at least. I know that the blocks frustrated some of you, but frustration can be a learning experience...and I hope this one was at least that.
Your border strips can be whatever colors/fabrics you choose...the graphics only show the colors that I liked when I was drawing.

Join Row 1 to Row 2 as shown...press whatever way the fabric wants you to. (Diagram 6.1)

Join the units from step#1 to each other as shown to create the top. (Diagram 5.2)
Borders

Take your measurements across the middle of the quilt...create 2 strips 1"xwidth. The optimum strip size would be 1" x32-1/2". Attach to sides of top.

Take your measurements across the middle of the quilt, including newly added border strips...create 2 strips 1"xwidth. The optimum strip size would be 1" x33-1/2". Attach to end of top.

Take your measurements across the middle of the quilt, including newly added border strips...create 2 strips 1"xwidth. The optimum strip size would be 1" x33-1/2". Attach to sides of top.
