butterfly Spring Butterfly

This block was adapted from a block found in BH&G's 501 Quilt Blocks . I have broken it into 3 parts to be paper-pieced...then the center body is to be appliqued on. The antenna are drawn on with a pigma pen.

You need 4 fabrics: 2 colors for the wings, a background color and black for the body. I created a dozen blocks at the same time so I created a 1/4" tube of bias binding and cut a 1-1/2" section for each body.

This was a relatively simple block to create and the design is very pretty. Use your imaginations and see what you can do with it.
