Sample Quilt Layouts

Cut as follows:

Fabric	Cutting Information
Light	Cut 1 2-1/2"x19" strips Cut 2 2-1/2"x9" strip
Medium/Dark	Cut 2 2-1/2"x19" strips Cut 1 2-1/2"x9" strip

Sewing Instructions:

1. Attach 19" strips of Med/Dark to either side of 19" strip of Light with a scant 1/4" seam...press toward Med/Dark fabric.
   
2. Check width of new unit...it should be 6-1/2" wide with your center strip being 2" wide. Check width at varying points and redo seams if not correct width.
3. Trim one end square, by setting a marking line on your ruler on the seam lines and cutting end. Then cut 6 2-1/2" units.
   
4. Attach 9" strips of Light to either side of 9" strip of Med/Dark with a scant 1/4" seam...press toward Med/Dark fabric.
   
5. Check width of new unit...it should be 6-1/2" wide with your center strip being 2" wide. Check width at varying points and redo seam if not correct width.
6. Trim one end square, by setting a marking line on your ruler on the seam lines and cutting end. Then cut 3 2-1/2" units.
   
7. Attach a unit from step#3 to either side of a unit from step#6... do NOT be afraid to pin to keep your seams tucked right in close to each other ...press toward outer units.
   
8. IMPORTANT: Please square up your finished block to be sure it is 6-1/2". If it is larger or smaller, check your seams and redo if necessary. If you do not check your measurements, your block may not join properly with other blocks easily to create a finished quilt.
